The Spirit of ANZAC Centenary Experience is a travelling exhibition not to be missed. It is emotionally moving and takes visitors on an interactive experience through Australia’s involvement in the First World War. The exhibition includes an impressive collection of artefacts from the National War Memorial as well as stories of our sailors, soldiers, airmen and nurses recounted in a self-paced audio presentation. Visiting 23 locations across Australia, the exhibition is the flagship of the ANZAC Centenary national programme and is free for all to attend.
I was honoured to be invited to attend the official opening for the Adelaide stage. As an ex full-time serving member of the Royal Australian Navy (1988 – 2003) I take great pride in Australia’s military history and, upon entering the experience, I became completely immersed in the sights and sounds as I followed the path through the exhibits.
